The old download links for 16 (and 15.1) are no longer working either, and in any case, the 16.0.1 and later versions are available only for purchase.
I wrote this piece for my flash fiction project, which just happened to be placed on the 20th of January of this year. I will most likely submit it to the project tomorrow.
She had left him in 1998 when he had told her that he had some spending money to blow and that she was going to be his guest. In a short-lived marriage that had, at the time, been an absolute pleasure, he had enjoyed being with her for hours at a time, looking at her, listening to her, playing with her, whispering into her ear, until he would come to find himself longing for her smile, her touch, her lips. She had been a woman of passion, so much so that she had taken what he had in mind for her with his own hands and caused him to do the same with hers. It was all so clear to him now; the reason she had left him was because she had been too much for him. It was all too much for her, too, because it was all too much for him.
And so when he had grown tired of her in 1998, he had taken her to his mother’s home, where he made her tea and played piano for her as his mother prepared tea for her. She had sat in the lounge and had gazed up at him, as she had stared at him in the past, and he had known that his mother had not said a word. Her love had reached out to him and helped him to see.
Now, years later, she had gone, and now he had gone, and here he was now, sitting on the cold floor of his mother’s home, listening to her stories. He had always loved his mother, and now he was sitting with her as she sat with him.
She had looked upon her son and said, “No, you did not listen to me. I told you. I said that she was not the girl for you. But you did not listen. I told you, but you did not listen.”
